Employee Benefits

We design, implement, and monitor employee benefit and executive compensation plans and related communications to comply with tax rules, employment laws, and other applicable laws, rules and regulations.  Our attorneys maintain close relationships with the client and outside consultants.  We advise clients regarding retirement and savings plans, health care plans and other benefit plans including the coordination of such plans among related or commonly owned companies.

Immigration

We represent a broad spectrum of companies and foreign national executives, managers, and professionals in securing work visa and permanent resident approvals from the U.S. government; collaborate with foreign immigration counsel to help American citizens secure foreign work visas and immigrant status abroad.

Labor & Employment

We work with employers to manage the problems and issues that arise in the workplace. Our attorneys provide counsel on issues involving affirmative action, workers' compensation, unions and occupational safety and health requirements.

Privacy/ Information Security

We assist clients with the formulation and implementation of privacy policies and practices, including those required by The USA Patriot Act, HIPAA, and the European Union Privacy Directive. In addition, we assist with the development and formulation of website security and privacy statements and disclosures, identity theft, issues raised by computer security and trade secret statutes, employment information confidentiality issues and education information privacy issues.

Taxes & Customs

We provide tax and customs law advice concerning foreign investments, distribution arrangements and joint ventures in the U.S.; structure transactions to minimize duties and taxes; coordinate with foreign lawyers and accountants regarding foreign tax laws, transfer pricing issues, “permanent establishment” determinations and other tax issues under relevant tax treaties; and assist in organizing foreign trade sub-zones and export trading companies.

Trade Compliance & Remedies

We aid clients in complying with U.S. laws relating to U.S. Customs, export and import regulations, such as trade sanctions, Bureau of Export Control, Office of Foreign Assets Control, anti-boycott and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and assist clients with the personnel and licensure aspects of exporting and importing.
