Green Card Production Delays
USCIS posted an alert to its website today notifying its customers of an anticipated 8-week delay in the production of permanent residence cards. During this delay foreign nationals needing to travel immediately upon approval of their permanent residence are encouraged to make an INFOPASS appointment and have temporary evidence of the permanent residence (I-551 stamp) placed in their passports. Based upon personal experience, INFOPASS appointments are being taken up quickly in major markets and are completely unavailable in others so it is important to plan accordingly.
