Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Implemented at Land and Sea Ports of Entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) recently posted to its site a collection of travel tips for those crossing the U.S./Canadian border this summer.  This follows the June 1, 2009 implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) at land and sea ports.  The WHTI requires requires U.S. and Canadian citizens 16 years of age and older to present a document that denotes citizenship and identity when entering the U.S. by land or sea.  This follows a previous implementation at international airports.
