Frost Brown Todd Receives the Ohio Governor's Excellence in Exporting Award
Frost Brown Todd was the only Ohio law firm to receive the Ohio Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award in September 2010. Frost won awards on two prior occasions, and is believed to be the only law firm to receive it three times in the award’s history. Accepting the Award is Joe Dehner, Chairman of International Services at Frost Brown Todd, along with Ohio Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel and Grand Ohio Commodore Richard Moore.
Joe Dehner Receives Honor from Director General of the U.S. Foreign & Commercial Service
Joe Dehner, Chairman of the International Services Group, received a Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade from the Director General of the US Foreign & Commercial Service, Suresh Kumar, in September 2010. Mr. Dehner served for nine years as Chairman of the Southern Ohio District Export Council, as an appointee of both Democratic and Republican US Secretaries of Commerce.
India-Business Alliance Hosted Director General of the U.S. Foreign & Commercial Service
The India-U.S. Business Alliance held its first event last August, when it hosted the Director General of the US Foreign & Commercial Service at a dinner before his speaking engagement in Cincinnati. Mr. Suresh Kumar is Assistant Secretary of Commerce and heads the Foreign & Commercial Service, a worldwide part of the Commerce Department, which helps U.S. companies increase their exports and fight trade barriers. Neil Desai, of Frost Brown Todd (Cincinnati office), is Secretary of the new organization, which Joe Dehner (Frost Brown Todd) formed in July. Both Joe and Neil are on the Board of the IUSBA. Board members are pictured, and include representatives of leading companies, the Cincinnati USA Chamber and others.

Foreign Policy Leadership Council of Greater Cincinnati Hosts Madeleine Albright
On January 30, the Foreign Policy Leadership Council of Greater Cincinnati hosted Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State, for an off-the-record discussion of US foreign policy. Joe Dehner, Chairman of the FPLC of GC, greeted Secretary Albright, and recognized that when she was appointed as the 64th US Secretary of State, she became at the time the highest ranking woman ever to serve in the US Government. The session took place at the Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati.
