Roundsourcing Podcast: The intertwining economies of the North and South American Giants (Brazil)
While visiting Brazil on a trade mission in November 2016, the Roundsourcer had the opportunity to meet with the Honorary Consul of Brazil to the State of Washington, Pedro Augusto Leite Costa. Costa has a wealth of experience when it comes to Americans doing business in Brazil. He shared his top tips for successful interactions with the largest country and economy in South America.
About Pedro Costa: Costa is based in Seattle, a hub for business opportunities for both American and Brazilian entrepreneurs, but traces his origins to Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais in the southeast of Brazil. He graduated with a degree in communications from the Universidade Federal – UFMG – and became a journalist devoted to economic and political issues. For several years, he worked for Brazil’s most important newspapers, radio stations and magazines. He also spent a year in London, where he worked as a stringer for BBC and wrote articles for Brazilian media.
Costa eventually became one of the foremost PR specialist in business communications and the Brazilian economic and financial systems. He led important business missions between Brazil and the USA, bringing together hundreds of businesses, politicians and diplomats from both countries. Aware that relations between Brazil and the United States would strengthen and become more meaningful, he formed The Information Company (TIC) to bring them together commercially. The company is now a strategic advisor and information aggregator, providing meaningful information and relevant stories to media, bloggers, analysts and influencers.
